Flash Fiction Friday 3/23/12 ~ Just Once

Welcome again to another Flash Fiction Friday!

As always, a picture says a thousand words, but we only get one hundred (no more, no less) to tell you a story. I hope you will enjoy my perception of this photo and what can happen even when it's Just Once.

Alicia fingered the photograph nervously. One of these men was her father.

Her mother had explained, blushing with every word of her confession.

Twenty years ago, in art school, she shared an apartment with Kendal and Micah. One night, just once, they got rousingly drunk and had a ménage.  The men had obviously been into each other. Two weeks later, they ran off to San Francisco. Six weeks later, her mother was pregnant.

Now, Alicia stood on their doorstep. Thank God for Google!

What would she say? "Suprise!"

Would they say? Time was running out. She needed a kidney, soon.
